Thank you for visiting our website. I hope you have found it informative and helpful. If you are visiting Medway or live in Medway I and the church that meets at Enon would be pleased to see you.

Are you happy? Recent surveys suggest that the present generation are unhappier than previous generations. Why is this? Surely with all the new technologies, gadgets, convenience food, more television and increased leisure activities people would be happier. But surveys show this is not the case. Modern life with all its new things does not lead to lasting happiness. It seems that the more people have, the more they want and if they cannot have something they want this leads to dissatisfaction and unhappiness.

So what is the answer? How can you be happy? The Bible has the answer. It says happiness is temporary and doesn’t last. This is because if you base your happiness on ‘what happens’ then you will always be up and down. When ‘what happens’ ends and the good time finishes then your happiness also finishes. The Bible actually uses the word joy more than happiness. This joy is permanent. It does not depend on the here and now but on God, on God’s Son the Lord Jesus Christ. Christians have joy because they trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and have salvation through him. This doesn’t mean that Christians have no sorrow or difficulty but that they have a purpose for life and a blessed hope that when they die they will be with the Lord Jesus in heaven for ever.

The Bible says that true joy and peace come through believing in the Lord Jesus Christ. If you are not already a Christian don’t keep looking for happiness in the things around you but look to the Lord Jesus Christ who is the source of lasting joy. If you want to find out more about the Bible or what it means to be a Christian then do come and enquire at our church. We shall always be pleased to see you.
